What is Stairlift Removal?

Stairlift removal is the process of safely and efficiently taking out a stairlift from a property. This service might be necessary for various reasons, such as when the stairlift is no longer needed, has become damaged or broken, or when the user’s needs have changed. Removing a stairlift can be a complex task that requires specialised tools and expertise to ensure it is done safely and efficiently. Attempting to remove a stairlift without professional help can lead to damage to the property or injury, which is why it’s crucial to rely on a professional stairlift removal service.

Stairlifts are very heavy due to the batteries and motors, so we do not suggest attempting to remove them yourself. Curved stairlifts for example are custom made to fit the specific staircase – they can be awkward to remove and require two engineers.

Our engineers are fully trained and will quickly and efficiently remove any stairlift safely without causing any damage to your property.

Types of Stairlifts Removed

We specialise in removing a wide range of stairlifts, including both straight stairlifts and curved stairlifts. Our experienced engineers are adept at handling stairlifts from leading manufacturers such as Acorn, Brooks and Stannah. Whether you have a straight stairlift or a custom-fitted curved stairlift, our team will ensure a smooth and worry-free removal process, taking care of all the details so you don’t have to.

Free Straight and Curved Stairlift Removal

As mentioned above we are pleased to be able to offer a free stairlift removal service for certain Acorn, Brooks and Stannah stairlift products as long as they were installed by Prestige Stairlifts within the past 4 years. This complimentary service includes the safe and efficient removal of the stairlift, as well as the responsible disposal or refurbishment of the unit and its components. Our goal is to make the process as convenient as possible for you, ensuring that your unwanted stairlift is removed without any hassle or additional cost. In certain circumstances, we may be able to offer a free removal service to stairlifts under 4 years old but that we haven’t installed and so it is worth giving us a call to check regarding your specific stairlift.

Where stair lift removal would incur a cost, we will always let you know in advance. Just get in touch to discuss the potential removal costs or determine if the stairlift in your property would qualify for free removal.

The Stairlift Removal Process

The stairlift removal process typically involves several key steps to ensure everything is handled safely and efficiently:

  1. Initial Assessment: Our engineer will conduct an initial assessment of the stairlift and the property to determine the best method for removal.
  2. Disconnection: The stairlift will be safely disconnected from the power source and any other connections.
  3. Dismantling: Our professional stairlift engineer will carefully dismantle the stairlift, removing all components and accessories.
  4. Removal: The old stairlift and its components will be removed from the property.
  5. Disposal: Finally, the stairlift and its components will either be refurbished to be used again in another property or will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Stairlift Removal Cost

The cost of stairlift removal can vary based on several factors, including the type of stairlift, its age, and its condition. Some stairlift models will be easier to remove than others and a curved stairlift requires more work than straight stairlift removal would. Where we are unable to offer a free removal, we strive to offer competitive pricing for our stair lift removal services, ensuring transparency and fairness. Before the removal process begins, we will provide you with a detailed quote, so you know exactly what to expect in terms of costs.

After Stairlift Removal

Once the stairlift removal process is complete, our friendly engineers will ensure that your property is left in a safe and tidy condition. Our aim is to provide a hassle-free and efficient removal process, ensuring that you are completely satisfied with our services.
