Our Commitment to Affordable Stairlifts
When it comes to the cost of a stairlift, there are numerous considerations that will impact stair lift prices. The type of staircase you have, requiring either a straight or curved stairlift, the available space in your property, and whether you’re seeking a brand new stairlift or a reconditioned stairlift will naturally determine the final stairlift cost. Additionally, the choice of stairlift company can significantly impact the overall price and service quality. There are also many different stairlift models from a variety of stairlift manufacturers and prices will vary depending on the make and model required.
Many stairlift companies keep their stairlift prices hidden until you make an enquiry, but at Prestige Stairlifts we like to be completely transparent about our stairlift costs. We aren’t able to give you a final price for your specific stair lift needs before conducting a free onsite survey, but we can share guidelines on what we charge to have a new or reconditioned stairlift installed in order to help you with your decision.
The prices below demonstrate our commitment to affordable mobility and our site visits, surveys and stairlift quotes are of course completely free of charge. We also have a price promise guarantee. So you can be confident when you choose Prestige Stairlifts you’re not just getting the best service, you’re getting the best stairlift price.
How Much Does a Straight Stairlift Cost?
If you have a straight staircase the upfront cost for supply and installation is less than with a curved stairlift, which would typically require bespoke fitting. With Prestige Stairlifts you will find our stairlift prices start at £2,350 for a new straight stairlift. This includes a free stairlift site survey and covers both the stairlift purchase price and installation costs. All new stairlifts that we supply and fit come with a two year warranty period covering parts and labour.
How Much Does a Reconditioned Stairlift Cost?
Reconditioned stairlifts are a cost effective solution for budget conscious buyers and are available for both straight staircases and curved stairs.
Our reconditioned straight stairlifts start at just £1,550 with installation. Straight stairlifts cost less than curved models so if your home allows, a reconditioned straight stairlift is the best way to save money on your stair lift cost.
For supply and fitting of a reconditioned curved stairlift costs can vary widely depending on the number of curves and bends in your staircase. The stairlift brands that we work with who manufacture curved stairlifts include Flow, Otolift and Platinum Stairlifts though of course your chosen stairlift model may not be available as a second hand stairlift, depending on our current stock, so it’s best to approach with some flexibility when you’re looking for the best stairlift prices.
How Much Do Curved Stairlifts Cost?
New curved stair lift costs vary depending on the precise requirements but our expert stairlift engineers will conduct a free no obligation full site survey to let you know the total price you can expect to pay and avoid hidden fees. All new stairlifts come with a 2 year manufacturers warranty.
We can also quote for a used stairlift to fit your curved staircase and all our reconditioned straight and curved stairlifts come with a 12 month warranty. Second hand stairlifts cost less than new stairlifts but bear in mind that the cost for a reconditioned curved stairlift may exceed that of a brand new straight model.
Why Are Curved Stairlifts More Expensive Than Straight Stairlifts?
When buying a stairlift it’s important to understand that the right stairlift model for your needs will be dictated by your property and how your staircase is configured. For straight stairs there is less likelihood of a need for unique and bespoke equipment, whereas for curved staircases there is more rail to fit and more work involved with the installation. Don’t forget that reconditioned curved stairlifts are available should you be looking to bring down the cost of a stairlift for your curved staircase.
How Much Do Outdoor Stairlifts Cost?
Our durable, weatherproof, hard working external stairlifts can be supplied and fitted from just £1,995, depending on your requirements. Ideal for helping navigate steps to your front door or for providing easy access to a garden, an outdoor stairlift can be invaluable for keeping your home accessible long term.
Do You Offer Stairlift Rental?
Yes we do! Subject to status we can supply and fit any stairlift, curved or straight, to your stairs for an upfront cost of £850 and then ongoing weekly rental would be payable from just £25 per week. Stairlift hire is a great way to make the cost of a stairlift more manageable and includes both installation and removal once it’s no longer required.
What are the Running Costs for a Stairlift?
If you’re worried about ongoing costs for your new stairlift, you might be pleasantly surprised. Modern stairlifts are very energy efficient and typically use less electricity than most household appliances. The average cost in electricity for your stairlift is very unlikely to exceed £30 per year. This is less than the average price per year to run a washing machine.
Do Stairlifts Qualify for VAT Exemption?
You may qualify for either full VAT relief or reduced rate VAT on the supply, installation and any maintenance of a domestic stairlift for your own use, depending on your circumstances. You can find out more on our stairlift VAT exemption page or check with your local council who can also advise you on eligibility for government grants such as the disabled facilities grant.
How Much Does a Stairlift Cost to Repair and Maintain?
In the unlikely event that your new stairlift suffers a fault within the first two years of installation (or 12 months for a reconditioned stairlift) all repairs, including parts and labour, would be covered by your warranty as long as it is up to date with its annual servicing, as per manufacturers guidance. For extended warranties you can choose from one of our maintenance plans, providing long term peace of mind. Our annual service agreements are available with different cover options and you can compare prices below.
All our stairlifts are fitted and maintained by fully qualified specialist stairlift engineers so you can rest assured that your stairlift installation will be completed to the very highest standards, as will any repairs.
